Pokémon Center Bangkok to Open December 1, 2026, With Thai Inspired Collection and Card Game Area

Thailand's first Pokémon Center gets an opening date

Pokémon Center BANGKOK will open on December 1, 2026, on the sixth floor of centralwOrld in Bangkok, bringing Thailand its first official Pokémon Center. Pokémon Thailand says the branch will have the largest floor area of any Pokémon Center outside Japan, with a central Big Tree display, a dedicated trading card game area and more than 20 types of merchandise celebrating the opening.

The Bangkok store is described as covering 2,000 square metres. Pikachu plush toys wearing outfits inspired by traditional Thai clothing will be among the main attractions, alongside Shaymin plush toys and products featuring artwork created especially for the launch. Pikachu and Shaymin appear in the store logo and will welcome visitors at the entrance.

Shoppers will face limits on entry and purchase quantities during the initial opening period. Further rules are scheduled to be announced in November 2026. There will be no commemorative Pokémon card giveaway for the store opening, a detail that collectors should know before planning a visit.

The opening also begins a sequence of anniversary activities extending into February 2027. The Pokémon Company and shopping centre operator Central Pattana have announced a January running event and a February celebration at centralwOrld, while Bangkok's MRT network will host decorated trains and station activities.

What visitors will find inside

Pikachu and Shaymin will greet visitors before they reach the Big Tree at the centre of the shop. The tree display will bring together several Pokémon characters within an interior designed to give shoppers space to browse.

Pokémon Centers take their name from places in the video games where players prepare for adventures and restore their Pokémon after battles. The real stores sell official merchandise and provide activities for fans. In Bangkok, that combination will include plush toys, trading card game goods and special merchandise, as well as space to play.

The largest branch outside Japan claim concerns floor area. For visitors, the more useful detail is how the space will be used: shopping, character displays and a regularly available Pokémon Trading Card Game Area will share the same venue.

Organisers plan activities for people who want to start playing the card game. The game involves players using decks of Pokémon cards to compete against each other. A dedicated area gives beginners somewhere to learn and established players somewhere to meet, making the shop a place for repeat visits as well as purchases.

A collection with a Thai identity

The opening collection will include male and female Pikachu plush toys in clothing inspired by Thai dress, plus a Shaymin plush toy. Shaymin, one of the branch's signature Pokémon, will also feature alongside Pikachu on accessories.

A published product list contains 22 entries, giving shoppers a more detailed picture of the promised collection of more than 20 types. Some entries separate clothing sizes or character designs, so the list includes several versions within the same broad product category.

The range extends beyond plush toys:

  • Paired Pikachu and Shaymin keychains, plus other character keychains.
  • Shirts in size 130 and adult M and L sizes, with Thai style trousers in size 130 and a free size option.
  • Tote bags, magnets, a logo pin and hand towels.
  • Socks featuring Pikachu, Shaymin and other Pokémon, in sizes covering 19 to 27 centimetres.
  • Bath towels, T shirts, A4 folders and B6 spiral notebooks.

The listed opening merchandise below is scheduled for release on December 1, 2026. All prices include tax, and every item is subject to availability:

  • Female Pikachu plush in Thai dress: 680 baht.
  • Shaymin plush: 630 baht.
  • Pikachu and Shaymin bag charm pair: 830 baht.

  • Magnet: 300 baht.
  • B6 spiral notebook: 290 baht.
  • Sticker set: 130 baht.
  • A4 clear folder: 90 baht.

Special artwork drawn for the Bangkok opening will appear across part of the range. The collection links the branch to Thailand through both the clothing designs and the illustrations, rather than relying only on a store name printed on standard products.

The opening merchandise is scheduled to go on sale from December 1. Some special products are also described as rotating through weekly sales, so shoppers seeking a particular item will need to check its release schedule. Merchandise notices state that prices include tax and that sales may be postponed or cancelled when necessary.

Entry limits will shape the first visits

Pokémon Thailand plans to limit both the number of people entering the shop and the quantity of merchandise each person can buy during the initial period. The stated aim of the purchase restrictions is to give more customers a chance to choose products.

The November announcement is expected to explain those arrangements. Exact entry procedures and purchase caps have not yet been specified. Visitors should check Pokémon Thailand's official announcements before travelling, particularly if they are coming from outside Bangkok or hoping to buy a specific opening item.

The official opening notice directs visitors to check the Pokémon Thailand Facebook page for admission details before visiting and says full details will be announced by November. As of October 30, 2026, no queue, numbered ticket, reservation or lottery procedure had been specified, and purchase limits per item had not been announced.

Some merchandise may be available only in limited quantities, and the product notices warn that items can sell out. Families and collectors will therefore need to plan around both access to the store and stock availability.

The opening restrictions also matter for people who mainly want to see the displays or use the card game area. Their visit will take place within a shop managing its first wave of customers, rather than at a separate exhibition with independent access.

Where the shop is and how to get there

Pokémon Center BANGKOK will occupy unit C604/2 on floor six of centralwOrld. Its address is 4, 4/1 to 4/2 and 4/4 Ratchadamri Road, Pathum Wan, Bangkok 10330.

The announced daily opening hours are 10 a.m. to 10 p.m., a planned trading window of 12 hours. Hours will follow centralwOrld's operating schedule and holiday arrangements.

Chit Lom station, code E1, on the BTS Sukhumvit Line is the station identified for reaching the shop. The BTS service is separate from the MRT network involved in the anniversary train campaign, a practical detail for visitors combining a store trip with other Pokémon activities.

CentralwOrld will also host the two main anniversary events in January and February. Fans attending those celebrations will be able to plan a store visit at the same destination, subject to the entry arrangements in place at the time.

January brings a run and a free festival

Pokémon RUN 30: Thailand Edition is scheduled for January 9 and 10, 2027, in the plaza in front of centralwOrld. Participants will choose a Pokémon partner and follow a route featuring activities based on the games, including gym battles, encounters with wild Pokémon and a search to fill in a Pokédex sheet.

The route is about 4.5 kilometres long. Tickets cost 2,800 or 3,200 baht, with the premium ticket including a Pikachu shoulder plush.

A Pokédex is the Pokémon world's catalogue of creatures. The search sheet adapts that collecting idea into a physical activity, asking participants to find Pokémon along the route. Organisers also describe opportunities to evolve a chosen partner as the adventure progresses.

The accompanying Festival Zone will be free to enter, including for people who have not registered for the run. It will contain a Time Tunnel looking back over 30 years of Pokémon, activity areas, character meetings and a temporary Pokémon shop.

Registered runners will receive a Runner's Kit containing an event T shirt from UNIQLO. UNIQLO and 7-ELEVEN are named as official sponsors. The free access commitment applies to the Festival Zone; participation in the run involves registration.

Registered runners will collect their kits at centralwOrld from December 18 to 20, 2026. Each kit also includes a bib, a matching lenticular card and a booster pack.

Pokémon RUN first took place in Taiwan as Pokémon RUN Carnival 2015. The Bangkok edition is part of its return to several Asian markets for the anniversary, giving the January event a connection to an existing regional programme.

February connects Bangkok with four other Asian cities

PokéXciting! in Bangkok will take place at centralwOrld on February 13 and 14, 2027. Plans include a Pokémon parade, stage performances, character meetings, photo areas and special event merchandise.

Admission will be free, with a night stage show and Meet & Greet also planned. PokéXciting! Pikachu merchandise will go on sale at the store from February 13, 2027. Merchandise notices allow for purchase limits, entry restrictions or a lottery, but specific procedures and limits have not been given. Entry guidelines will be provided on the Pokémon Thailand Facebook page, and visitors who do not follow staff instructions may be refused entry or a sale.

Bangkok is one of five cities hosting PokéXciting!, alongside Kuala Lumpur, Taipei, Singapore and Manila. Each city will have a differently coloured version of PokéXciting! Pikachu. Bangkok's version will have an orange look and will make its first appearance in Thailand during the celebration.

The events mark 30 years since Pokémon Red and Pokémon Green launched for the Game Boy in Japan in 1996. The Bangkok programme carries that anniversary from the store opening in December 2026 into public activities in early 2027.

Susumu Fukunaga, Corporate Officer of The Pokémon Company, described the intended audience in remarks delivered in Thai translation. He said:

We hope fans of all ages will have fun with family and friends, create good memories and celebrate this important milestone with Pokémon.

Nattakit Tangpoonsinthana, Central Pattana's chief marketing executive, connected the new programme with the companies' previous collaboration in 2023. That campaign included a Pikachu measuring 15 metres tall outside centralwOrld and Pikachu Dance appearances around Thailand. The new store gives the partnership a continuing retail location between major events.

Pokémon GO and MRT extend the celebration

Pokémon GO will hold a Bangkok event on February 13 and 14, matching the dates of PokéXciting! Players will have opportunities to encounter the orange PokéXciting! Pikachu, complete timed research tasks and take part in a GO Stamp Rally.

The regional stamp rally began on September 12, 2026, and covers the same five Asian cities. Bangkok's stamp becomes available from February 13, 2027. Players collect the digital stamps by finding designated PokéStops, locations marked within the mobile game.

The city stamps are also connected with opportunities to encounter PokéXciting! Pikachu carrying a Location Background, an image associated with the city where the encounter takes place. The programme links visits to physical places with collectibles inside the game.

Bangkok Expressway and Metro, known as BEM, plans a special Pokémon anniversary train on the MRT Blue Line in December 2026. Wider celebration plans also describe decorated trains on the Purple Line. BEM assistant managing director Thapanaree Setthaseri specifically identified the Blue Line train and station activities during January and February 2027.

Selected MRT stations will receive anniversary displays from early January. Plans also include a station stamp activity and a Children's Day appearance by Pikachu at Chatuchak Park station. Together, the train and station programme will bring parts of the celebration into everyday journeys, beyond the centralwOrld venue.

The dates to put on the calendar

The programme spans several months, with shopping, public events, transport activities and mobile game features beginning at different times. For visitors arranging a trip, the main dates are:

  • September 12, 2026: The regional Pokémon GO Stamp Rally begins.
  • November 2026: Further store entry and purchase restriction details are due.
  • December 1, 2026: Pokémon Center BANGKOK opens at centralwOrld, with the listed opening merchandise scheduled to go on sale.
  • December 2026: BEM plans to introduce the special Pokémon MRT Blue Line train.
  • December 18 to 20, 2026: Registered Pokémon RUN 30 participants collect their kits at centralwOrld.
  • Early January 2027: Anniversary displays begin at selected MRT stations.
  • January 9 and 10, 2027: Pokémon RUN 30 and its free Festival Zone take place at centralwOrld.
  • January and February 2027: MRT station activities and stamp collecting are planned.
  • February 13 and 14, 2027: PokéXciting! and the matching Pokémon GO event take place in Bangkok.
  • February 13, 2027: Collection of the Bangkok GO Stamp Rally stamp begins, and PokéXciting! Pikachu merchandise goes on sale at the store.

December's opening is the first opportunity to visit the permanent shop. January adds the running event and free festival, while February brings the parade and matching game activities. Those differences give families, collectors and players concrete choices about when to visit.
