Life-sized animatronic dinosaurs, environments inspired by the Jurassic World films and a themed restaurant form the center of the attraction. Alongside the entertainment, the project includes activities intended to teach children about science, biodiversity and protecting the environment.
Asset World Corporation (AWC), NEON and Universal Destinations & Experiences developed the project together. It has support from the Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT), the Bangkok Metropolitan Administration (BMA) and the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment (MNRE).
Government officials, international dignitaries and industry leaders attended the grand opening. The event presented the attraction as part of Thailand's effort to expand sustainable tourism and strengthen Bangkok's position as a global destination for leisure.
The opening is being hailed as one of Bangkok's most significant entertainment launches in recent years. Its ambition extends beyond bringing film fans through the gates: the developers expect it to attract local residents and international travelers, support nearby businesses and create reasons to visit the riverfront throughout the year.
For visitors, the main experience combines a journey through the fictional island of Isla Nublar with encounters built around familiar dinosaurs and scenes from the films. Dining, shopping and outdoor leisure spaces extend the visit beyond the main attraction.
A journey through Isla Nublar
Visitors begin at the Welcome Center before passing through the Jurassic World gates. The setting recreates Isla Nublar, the fictional island at the heart of the film franchise, using detailed sets, interactive exhibits and animatronics, mechanical figures that bring the dinosaurs to life through movement.
A Brachiosaurus encounter and a petting zoo introduce the gentler part of the journey. The attraction then moves toward scenes built around predators, with Velociraptors in the Predator Pavilion and the Indominus rex at the Observation Deck.
A staged escape from the T. rex forms the finale. The progression from calmer encounters to a more intense ending gives the visit the shape of a film adventure, with guests moving through different settings instead of watching the action from a seat.
The Stygimoloch Truck field lab is another interactive zone. Across the attraction, recognizable dinosaurs, cinematic environments and realistic soundscapes are designed to appeal to families, younger visitors and dedicated followers of the franchise.
The main journey lasts approximately 45 to 60 minutes and is offered in English and Thai. Visitors should allow additional time if they also plan to eat, browse merchandise or spend time in the riverside areas.
Dining and leisure beyond the dinosaur encounters
Fossil & Flame Restaurant is described as the first Jurassic World themed restaurant outside a theme park. Its dining environment and menu extend the film setting into a meal, with dishes including the Tree Top Nacho Tower and the Molten Chocolate Egg dessert.
A retail store designed around a safety bunker sells exclusive merchandise. Together, the restaurant and shop give visitors further ways to spend time at the venue after completing the main experience.
The River Lawn provides leisure space overlooking the Chao Phraya River, while playgrounds add another option for families. These areas connect the enclosed dinosaur experience with Asiatique's wider riverfront setting.
Asiatique is already Thailand's largest riverfront hub combining retail and entertainment. Adding a major branded attraction to its restaurants, shops and leisure spaces is intended to draw more people into the destination and encourage them to stay longer.
Science and sustainability at the Hatch Dome
The Hatch Dome hosts the Better World, Better Future initiative, which introduces younger audiences to science, biodiversity and environmental stewardship. Its interactive exhibits and a 4D sustainability attraction connect entertainment with lessons about protecting ecosystems.
Biodiversity means the variety of living things. The educational program focuses on its role in sustaining life on Earth and on the importance of caring for the environments in which those living things exist.
The initiative fits Thailand's broader strategy to promote sustainable tourism and environmental awareness. Within the attraction, that goal takes the form of learning activities placed alongside the dinosaur encounters, so a family visit can include both recreation and education.
The project aims to inspire future scientists, conservationists and travelers who consider the environment when making choices. Its community activities and educational spaces are also intended to provide benefits beyond the main entertainment experience.
A tourism investment with national ambitions
Thailand welcomed more than 35 million international tourists in 2024, generating over 1.67 trillion baht, approximately $49 billion, according to the Tourism Authority of Thailand. Tourism is a major source of national revenue and employment, making new attractions part of a wider economic effort.
Jurassic World: The Experience is expected to draw millions of tourists annually. That is a forecast for the attraction, rather than an attendance total announced during its opening period. Its role in Thailand's tourism strategy is to broaden the range of activities available to visitors, particularly families looking for entertainment and adventure.
Bangkok's new venue also gives domestic visitors a reason to return to Asiatique. By combining an international film brand with dining, shopping and riverside recreation, the developers aim to encourage tourism throughout the year.
Mrs. Wallapa Traisorat, CEO and President of AWC, explained the company's wider ambition for the project:
Jurassic World: The Experience is not just an entertainment venue but part of our commitment to creating lifestyle destinations that inspire year-round tourism and contribute to Thailand's economic and environmental sustainability.
The national tourism figures and the new investment show the scale of the setting in which the attraction is opening. Thailand is seeking to maintain the momentum of international travel while adding experiences that appeal to a broader range of visitors.
Jurassic World connects Bangkok with southern filming locations
The attraction's launch coincides with the global release of Jurassic World: Rebirth, which was filmed in Thailand's southern provinces of Krabi, Phang Nga and Trang. The Bangkok experience and the film's real locations offer different ways for fans to engage with the same franchise.
The film's sequences are expected to increase interest in visiting those southern provinces. For travelers drawn to places they have seen on screen, the connection gives Thailand a tourism opportunity reaching beyond the capital.
The sequence of developments places the opening within a broader tourism push:
- In 2024, Thailand received more than 35 million international tourists and generated over 1.67 trillion baht in tourism revenue.
- On August 8, 2025, Jurassic World: The Experience opened at Asiatique The Riverfront Destination in Bangkok.
- By August 19, 2025, the attraction's launch was being promoted alongside the global release of Jurassic World: Rebirth and its filming locations in Krabi, Phang Nga and Trang.
The combination links a permanent entertainment venue in Bangkok with interest in landscapes elsewhere in the country. The attraction is part of a wider strategy to use international entertainment brands and film productions to support tourism growth.
Thailand's wider role in international production
Thailand has also hosted productions including HBO's The White Lotus: Season 3 and Alien: Earth. Both have brought investment and international attention, adding to the country's visibility as a place for filming and travel.
Alien: Earth represented the largest foreign production investment in Thailand in more than 30 years. It employed thousands of local crew members and demonstrated the country's capacity to host large international projects.
Diverse landscapes, a skilled workforce and supportive government policies have helped make Thailand an increasingly popular filming location for major studios. The economic activity starts with production itself, while the resulting films and series can bring later attention to the places audiences see.
Thai authorities have promoted filming locations as destinations for travelers. The wider effort includes cash rebates and TAT partnerships with streaming platforms such as Netflix to highlight Thai culture and natural beauty.
Jurassic World: The Experience adds a venue where visitors can engage with an international entertainment brand directly. Alongside productions filmed in Thailand, it contributes to the country's ambition to attract both filmmakers and travelers seeking distinctive experiences.
Jobs and activity around Asiatique
The investment of more than 1.4 billion baht reflects the project's scale. The attraction is expected to create hundreds of jobs and increase visitor traffic around Asiatique, supporting restaurants, shops and other leisure businesses.
Local artisans are also intended to benefit through community projects such as the Gallery Art of Giving. These activities form part of the developers' aim to create lasting value for the surrounding community.
Domestic and international visitors are central to that plan. More people coming to the riverfront attraction could bring additional spending to neighboring businesses and encourage further investment in the area.
The educational and sustainability programs are intended to extend the project's benefits beyond ticket sales. Together with community activities, they give the attraction a role in environmental awareness and local engagement as well as entertainment.
