LISA and VERDY Bring Street Art to SHISEIDO Ultimune With Gifts Across Asian Markets

A global campaign with different rewards by market

SHISEIDO's Ultimune collaboration with Japanese graphic artist VERDY brings BLACKPINK member LISA, new illustrated characters and limited purchase gifts into a global campaign beginning in July 2026. Japan's rollout includes a pouch from July 1, a shopping bag from September 1 and six department store events running between July 1 and August 11.

The beauty company's June 1 announcement sets out the partnership as part of Ultimune's autumn and winter campaign. LISA continues as the serum line's global ambassador, while VERDY contributes artwork featuring his character VICK, a new girl character and a fresh interpretation of SHISEIDO's camellia flower.

For shoppers, the practical detail is that the gifts vary by country, retailer and sales channel. Taiwan's promotion includes gifts tied to department store anniversary sales and selected outlets. Japan has its own schedule, while offers elsewhere include a keychain through Malaysia's Shopee promotion and hair accessories through selected livestream sales.

Across the Taiwan promotion, seven kinds of VERDY merchandise are described: pouches, keychains, badges, decorative stickers, plush headbands, hair clips and shopping bags. Customers will need to check the offer attached to their chosen store and purchase, because the wider collection is distributed through several different arrangements.

LISA and VERDY move from concert visuals to skincare

LISA became an Ultimune global ambassador in February 2026. The new campaign continues that role, placing her alongside artwork created by an artist already connected with BLACKPINK's concert imagery.

VERDY previously worked with BLACKPINK on its Born Pink world tour, serving as the group's first artistic director and designing tour visuals and exclusive merchandise. The SHISEIDO project carries that creative connection into beauty, with LISA appearing as ambassador and VERDY shaping the illustrated world around the serum.

SHISEIDO says campaign visuals will combine LISA's presence with VERDY's graphics. His contribution extends beyond a single character placed on merchandise: it includes new illustrations and typography, the design of letters and words, developed for the campaign.

The collaboration gives fans several ways to encounter the same artwork, from advertising to department store displays and objects used during a skincare routine. The common link is the visual identity; the purchase conditions remain specific to each market.

VICK gets new companions

VICK, VERDY's familiar character combining a panda and a rabbit, is central to the campaign. Alongside him are a newly drawn girl character, identified as GIRL in the merchandise range, and a character inspired by Ultimune's camellia emblem.

The flower connects the artwork to the product itself. SHISEIDO uses the camellia as an Ultimune symbol and lists a fermented camellia ingredient among the serum's moisturising ingredients. VERDY turns that existing identity into a character that can appear alongside VICK.

Japan's headband collection shows how the artwork becomes a range of individual designs. Four versions are listed: VICK, GIRL, CAMELLIA and HEART. Other markets select different combinations, including VICK and CAMELLIA headbands and hairpins featuring three of the characters.

SHISEIDO describes the creative theme as encouragement, confidence and support for people in everyday life. The illustrations translate those broad ideas into recognisable faces and objects, making the campaign's visual story consistent across a pouch, a hair accessory or a store display.

VERDY's first cosmetics collaboration

VERDY, a graphic artist from Osaka known for Girls Don't Cry and Wasted Youth, says this is his first collaboration with a cosmetics brand. In SHISEIDO's announcement, he explains that the invitation arrived when he wanted to try something new.

Describing that opportunity, VERDY said in a statement translated from Japanese:

This is my first time collaborating with a cosmetics brand, so I am looking forward to being able to do something interesting that I have never done before.

His statement also describes creating a girl who lives in VICK's world, camellia themed characters and typography. Those details help explain why the project has several connected designs rather than one repeated illustration.

The campaign coincides with another milestone in his work: his first museum solo exhibition, I Believe in Me, scheduled at Seoul's Lotte Museum of Art from April 24 to July 19, 2026. The exhibition and the beauty campaign put his characters before audiences in different settings during the same period.

Japan's gifts arrive in stages

SHISEIDO's Japan campaign page gives the clearest breakdown of the purchase gifts. The first nationwide collaboration kit begins July 1 with an Ultimune serum and a specially designed pouch. A second phase begins September 1 with a shopping bag at participating stores and selected online retailers.

Online kits beginning July 1 include special hairpins. Selected department stores offer the four headband designs as their events begin. All the gifts are available while supplies last, so the announced period and the remaining stock both affect availability.

Qualifying products listed for the Japanese kits include the 30 mL, 50 mL and 75 mL bottles, as well as the 50 mL refill. For online purchases, SHISEIDO specifically tells customers to check that the kit item appears in their shopping cart.

The arrangement makes the retailer part of the buying decision. Someone seeking a pouch, a particular headband or an online hairpin needs to choose the corresponding offer rather than simply select any Ultimune listing.

A calendar across four Japanese cities

The Happy Skin with ULTIMUNE events take place in Osaka, Nagoya, Tokyo and Yokohama. SHISEIDO says the temporary retail events offer a chance to experience the serum and purchase kits containing special collaboration items.

The announced sequence runs from the first Osaka event in early July through the nationwide shopping bag launch in September:

  • July 1: The first nationwide pouch kits and online hairpin kits begin. Hankyu Umeda in Osaka hosts its event from July 1 to 7.
  • July 15 to 21: Events run at Osaka Takashimaya and JR Nagoya Takashimaya.
  • July 23 to 29: Tokyo's Shibuya Scramble Square +Q Beauty hosts its event.
  • July 29 to August 3: Isetan Shinjuku hosts the next Tokyo event.
  • August 1: A 75 mL Ultimune refill is scheduled for release in Japan.
  • August 5 to 11: Yokohama Takashimaya hosts the final event in the published schedule.
  • September 1: The second nationwide kit phase begins with the shopping bag.

Most events list hours of 10 a.m. to 8 p.m.; the Shibuya event runs until 9 p.m. The campaign page specifies earlier closing times on the final days in Nagoya, at 7 p.m., and Isetan Shinjuku, at 6 p.m.

Taiwan and other markets use different channels

Taiwan's SHISEIDO promotion connects the collaboration with department store anniversary sales and selected retail channels. Exact Taiwan launch dates, spending thresholds and the allocation of each gift were not specified in the campaign details described here.

Malaysia's Shopee 7.7 offer includes a limited VERDY keychain with a qualifying purchase of the 75 mL serum or a 15 mL set through SHISEIDO's official Shopee store. Listed Malaysian serum prices are RM350 for 30 mL, RM510 for 50 mL and RM650 for 75 mL.

Another regional rollout beginning July 1 assigns VICK and CAMELLIA headbands to selected Ultimune purchases at SHISEIDO boutiques and counters. VICK, GIRL and CAMELLIA hairpins are reserved for SHISEIDO Super Brand Day livestreams on Shopee Live and TikTok Shop Live, while a GIRL vinyl pouch is exclusive to Sephora stores and its online shop.

Japan also ran a social media draw linked to the store displays. Participants were asked to follow SHISEIDO's official account, photograph VICK at a participating location and post with #FINDV. Ten winners were offered an original T shirt and pin badge. The entry period was July 1 through August 11, 2026, at 11:59 p.m.; the campaign page now marks that contest as ended.

The serum behind the artwork

Ultimune launched in 2014, and SHISEIDO introduced the renewed serum on March 1, 2025. The company identifies it as its top selling serum by sales value within the SHISEIDO brand between March 2025 and February 2026.

SHISEIDO also reports 331 beauty awards worldwide through December 2025, counting products across the Ultimune line since its original launch. That total covers the franchise's history, spanning more than a decade before the VERDY campaign.

The current formula includes fermented camellia extract, listed as camellia seed extract, an Aspergillus culture component and glycerin for moisturising. SHISEIDO describes its age related skincare approach as care through hydration appropriate to a person's age.

The company says the ingredients reach the stratum corneum, the outermost layer of skin. In everyday terms, its product description focuses on moisture and the appearance of firmness, smoothness and brightness. Its directions call for two pumps in the morning and evening, after toner and before moisturiser or cream.

What the Japanese prices show

Japan's listed prices, including tax, are 9,900 yen for 30 mL, 15,180 yen for 50 mL and 19,800 yen for 75 mL. The 50 mL refill costs 14,630 yen. SHISEIDO gives reference retail prices, with actual prices potentially varying by store.

The 75 mL refill scheduled for August 1 costs 18,150 yen, which is 1,650 yen less than the 75 mL bottle at 19,800 yen. The 50 mL refill is 550 yen less than its corresponding bottle. Those comparisons let existing users weigh the refill price alongside the gift attached to a qualifying purchase.

SHISEIDO says the serum's bottle contains at least 15 percent recycled glass. The refill options sit alongside that packaging detail, while the collaboration adds accessories intended for repeated use, including pouches, headbands and shopping bags.

For customers drawn by LISA or VERDY, the main practical change is choice: the same serum is being paired with different artworks, sales channels and event dates. The published schedules and kit descriptions determine which item accompanies a purchase.
